The event is a fundraising event for the Sydney Saxophone Collective's European tour, based around an invitation to perform at the World Saxophone Congress in St Andrews, Scotland. We are also trying to raise money for our premiere cd due to be recorded at the end of the year.

SSC is a collection of musicians who are the leaders in the field of classical saxophone in Sydney. Members of the SSC also perform in groups such as Continuun Sax, Nexas Quartet, and Alianza Saxophone Ensembles, along with other extraordinary professionals musicians, educators and performers based in Sydney. The main objective of the ensemble is to bring to audiences diversity and a range of music from transcriptions to world premieres of original works. Our strongest point is the infinite possible combinations in the context of chamber and orchestra, due to the extended range of timbres derived from the saxophone family from sopranino to bass saxophone. This makes the adaptation of all kinds of music possible.
