Nathan has had many years of experience as a saxophone and clarinet tutor (teaching students between the ages of 11-70) and is currently teaching in the Sydney area both privately and for the following schools and organisations:
- Sydney Conservatorium of Music - Open Academy & Foundation Program (saxophone)
- Sydney Girls High School (saxophone, Symphonic Wind Orchestra and Saxophone Ensemble conductor)
- Sydney Boys High School (saxophone, Saxophone Ensemble conductor)
- International Grammar School (saxophone, Band tutor, Junior and Senior Jazz Band conductor)
- Parramatta High School (saxophone and clarinet, Stage Band conductor)
- Woodwind tutor for the Yamaha Music Connect Program (saxophone, clarinet and flute)
As a teacher Nathan tries to provide students with a broad musical education, teaching various styles of music to students. Nathan also can put students through AMEB examinations if they so wish.

Tutoring is a great way to polish and develop sections of an ensemble or to help students who are learning in a group lesson scenario. Nathan has had much experience tutoring both saxophone and clarinet (sometimes combined) in both these settings with postive results. Please follow the WORKSHOP link to see where Nathan has tutored. As well as performing and instrumental tuition, Nathan has also been a conductor and ensemble director for a range of school wind and jazz ensembles. Currently Nathan is the conductor of the Jazz Band at the International Grammar School, Stage Band at Parramatta High School, Symphonic WInd Orchestra and Saxophone Ensemble at Sydney Girls High School. Nathan has also been a relieving conductor for the following ensembles:
- Sydney Girls High School - Stage Band; Flute Ensemble; Symphonic Wind Band; Junior Wind Band.
- North Sydney Boys High School - Junior Wind Band.
- Sydney Conservatorium of Music - Various touring chamber ensembles, Saxophone Orchestra.
